ABOUT US
Our mission is to create opportunities and provide choices to individuals to maximize their independence and optimize their potential to live
within the community.
KCCDD adheres to the values of advancing Knowledge, being Creative in programs and activities, Caring about the needs of the individuals with whom we work, full Development of potential, and Dedication to the mission of the organization.
In December of 1956, a group of sixteen dedicated parents came together with a steadfast belief in establishing a school for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Since then, KCCDD has undergone many changes, but our beliefs have stayed true as we continually strive to provide the best services we can for the individuals we serve.
Today, we provide a variety of services for over 300 adults who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities. We also operate the HUB, Phoenix Industries, Gordon Behrents Senior Center, and Camp Kidz.
